One of the most common fitness class misconceptions that I encounter is the notion that you have to be at a certain level of fitness or have some sort of expert knowledge or experience to join the class. This is so false! Fitness classes are designed to help you get fit, or maintain your level of physical fitness. There is no requirement that you need to possess a certain amount of skill to join a class, or that you have to ‘be good enough’ to take the class.

Exercise is a key contributor to health and happiness: Beyond triggering that runner's high, it's associated with a higher quality of life, improved health, and a better mood. But even if your day is "crazy busy," there are still ways to get sneak some cardio into your routine.

If you’ve had a chance to see “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, you were probably struck by Bruce Wayne/Ben Affleck/Batman’s intensive workout scene. And if you haven’t had a chance to see it, I should start out be mentioning that this article has minimal spoilers. You already know that Batman fights Superman, and it shouldn’t ruin anything to let you know that the Dark Knight goes through a heavy-duty workout to prepare for the faceoff. Which makes sense—you’d have to be pretty built to take on the Man of Steel.

A question: When you think of your fitness or non-fitness goals, do you smile? Do you at least smile to yourself, you know, deep inside? You should! This is one of the best ways to tell that you are intrinsically motivated, that you are not motivated by your friends, partner, the secret wishes of your pet or by the harsh comments of your ex’s grandma. When you think of, say, running that 5K in the spring, and you smile – this is a great sign.

Hey all! Deanna Gwilt here (aka Dee) from San Diego, CA. Living here in San Diego and practicing as a personal trainer is amazing to say the least. Even the bad weather is good compared to what the Midwest and East get (thinking of blizzards, being snowed in, tornadoes, etc.). Honestly I have little to no complaints (sorry, 60 degrees is still really cold for me but I have Reynauds) and training clients and even myself is really easy to do.

Maximize Your Fat Loss 1. Drink a Glass of Water When you First Wake UpThere is still a lot research being done on this subject to figure out exactly why this trick works, but German researchers did a study back in 2003 that determined that test subjects drinking a 16 oz glass of near freezing water, showed a metabolic increase of about 30 % for about 10 – 50 minutes after the consumption occurred. 2. Drink Whey Protein before training

WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND?Good question.  Sometimes there are so many things that we have to do, it’s difficult to keep track of it all.  Break it down into steps, and make sure your workout time is at the top.  Once you’re squared away, you are better able to go forth and tackle the rest of your day.  Remember, you run your day, not the other way around.
