We all have areas of our life that we’d like to improve. Whether it’s our health, career, a relationship, or our spiritual path, when one of more of them is out of synch, it impacts our overall wellness. For example, when someone is working for an extremely unreasonable boss in a stressful job, Friday at 5:00 can’t come soon enough. Then on Sunday night the anxiety creeps in and before they know it they’ve single-handedly polished off a gallon of ice cream. The imbalance of the stressful job creates emotional eating, which is causes weight gain, poor sleep, stress, irritability, etc. So you can see the importance of balanced wellness – it’s all connected.
So how do you begin? Here are three steps to get you started.
STEP 1: READY
Prepare yourself for creating balance in your life with your thoughts. Our thoughts create our reality, how we perceive situations, so it is important that we don’t sabotage ourselves with negativity. Have a positive affirmation that pertains to the way you want to live.
STEP 2: SET
What is your ultimate goal? Weight loss? New Job? Improved relationship? Write it down as succinctly as possible. How will achieving your goal look and feel?
Next, what’s your timeframe for achieving the goal?
Write down the steps to achieving it. Set milestones on the path to your goal and celebrate achieving them.
Think about roadblocks that you may encounter and have a plan for conquering them.
STEP 3: GO!
Now it’s time to take the actual steps toward your goal. Walk your walk and talk your talk. No more procrastinating the life that you want!
