I started exercising the Sport of Fitness in The Netherlands back in 1993 at the age of 20 and have developed an addiction for it. My passion for fitness and helping people live a healthy life led me to becoming a personal trainer. I am proud to say that I am a World Fitness Association Certified Personal Trainer. They offer a unique hands on practical training. No online classes. Real life practical classes, where you are prepared for modern, real world scenarios. The certification includes CPR /AED certification through the American Heart Association. www.worldfitnesscertification.com
In September 2013 me, my loving husband and our two kids moved to the USA from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We have a 16 year old boy and a 13 year old daughter. We brought our 2 cats and 1 doggie from back home and got another cat at the shelter here. So we have 3 cats and 1 doggie running around. In 2006 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was 35 years old. I got a double mastectomy, chemo, radiation and hormone therapy, for which I am still taking tamoxifen every day. The surgery was in August 2006, followed by chemo in September. Radiation started in Janaury 2007, which took place every day for 25 days. I missed working out so much I started going to the gym while receiving radiation treatment. I wrapped a big scarf around my bald head and went off to the gym. My body had to get used to working out again, but before I knew it I was running on the treadmill and lifting weights. Even though docters told me I would not be able to lift heavy weights and do intensive workouts, I pushed myself and I am lifting heavier weights than I used to before I got breast cancer. It’s been 7 years since my treatment and I feel fitter and healthier than ever before. I hope to become an inspiration to others. And help you become the fittest, most energetic and healthiest you have ever been!
