OK! So we really stirred the pot last night! I am starting to have you switch rows, hee hee! I loved hearing all of you giggle about it. Well it was nice to shift the rows during some songs to give the people in the back some more room up front. What did you think? I don't know if we can squeeze anybody else in our Thursday night Zumba at Future Fitness in Medford! Go to http://www.MoveYourWayFit.com to stay on top of some upcoming announcements about more classes with Leslie and Dee coming to the Marlton, Medford, and Mt. Laurel, NJ area! Do me a favor and don't be shy! I have some room up near me in the front. The only requirement is that you know NO PERFECTION is required :)
WOW! All ages, shapes, and sizes at our huge turnout last night at Future Fitness, Medford Zumba with Leslie! Every Thursday night at 6:30 we are now filling the room. Please...don't be shy...move up to the front so we don't squish the folks in back. Remember to go at your own pace and DANCE YOUR HEART OUT any way you want! Isn't it great that you don't need to know the steps exactly? If you do...Dee and I break down some new steps of the month every 2nd Sunday at Noon at Future Fitness in Medford, NJ. Keep burning 300-800 calories/hour in our Zumba class!
Thanks to all who came out on this snowy day to join Dee and I in learning our new steps of the month! We reviewed bachata, merengue, reggaeton, and more! What a fabulous turnout! It was great to see your smiling faces and we know that you now know that it just doesn't matter how you move...no perfection here! We learned our some of our new steps of the month and you should be ready to move with more confidence now! Thanks to all who told us that you want MORE! Stay tuned...Dee and I are cooking up MORE Zumba for you soon!
Wow! 25 of us in class this morning! It just keeps growing! Thanks to everyone for coming out and shakin' it like you just don't care ;) We REALLY got our sweat on, so be sure to drink plenty of fluids today and tomorrow and ANYTIME you workout! Did you know that proper hydration can help speed your recovery? Get a bit of orange, banana, or some other potassium to help reduce muscle cramps (be sure to check with your physician and confirm that potassium is not ill-advised). I love my P90x orange recovery drink...I drink it during my workout and I NEVER get muscle cramps and my thirst is always satisfied! Your local health store may have a recovery drink too. Just make sure it is not the high calorie version! If you have any questions about this or any other products, send 'em my way, if I don't know that answer, I will find out for you! Email me at ZumbaDancewithLeslie@gmail.com. See you Thursday night! Zumba and holiday hugs, Leslie P.S....if you see my smiling a great deal in class, it's because I love to dance and move...I love what I do!
From Leslie...Thanks to everyone who allowed me the fantastic opportunity to sub Dee's Saturday AM Zumba class at Active Fitness in Medford, NJ! We changed things up and I saw soooo many smiles! Thanks for your great comments at the end of class too! I'm so glad that you are finding my classes fun and easier to follow. I am especially glad that you are getting a workout! http://www.ZumbaDancewithLeslie.com http://www.MoveYourWayFit.com
People come to class all of the time with different experiences and backgrounds...of course! That's a good thing! **Please remember, if you have taken Zumba with another instructor, understand that your experience is going to be COMPLETELY different with each person...and that's a good thing! Using our bodies and minds in different ways all of the time is good for us! Dance requires us to use our brains. Have you worked your brain out lately? Don't fall asleep at class! Don't get stuck doing exactly the same routines all of the time. A mix is best. To get a GREAT workout, it's good to know a bunch of routine choreography so you can REALLY get physically in to it and get a fantastic workout, but we should give fitness to our brains too!
Did you know that the body will accommodate? What does that mean? If you move in the same way, using the same type of exercise or exercise equipment, your body will adjust and not derive as much benefit! What does that mean? It means YOU SHOULD CHANGE and MIX it up to benefit both physically AND cognitively! Well...that's the speech-language pathologist coming out in me! Research is proving it. Truly, if we use our brains in different ways cognitively, we can help keep our minds sharper as we age and decrease the the likelihood or severity of dementia! Take from different instructors. Challenge yourself to try new things. Change your exercise routine. Move in different ways...it works! That's why I love dance. We work all different muscle groups in ever-changing ways and we sometimes do it without even thinking about it because it's fun! Have a great day! Your Zumba Mama & Mami, Leslie
Are you ready to kick it this Wednesday morning? Can't wait to see my Wednesday morning peeps for the best Zumba in town!! Zumba hugs everyone!
11/4/11 - What great classes this week everyone! It was a Zumba party at our special evening class recently! All of you brought your best! We burned some major calories too! Do you know that a Zumba class can burn between 300-800 calories/hour? Ummm...I think we were up there, don't you? Wow! It was like being at a wedding party with sneakers, but better! We ripped up the dance floor! I was amazed to see all of you move like you did even though that was your first class with me. It was great to help out with this extra class. See you soon! L
