Telomere length -- the length of the terminal caps (teeny DNA) of your chromosomes -- is considered to be a factor of aging and health. Vigorous exercise and activity may be associated with longer telomeres, and hence greater health and longevity.
In my own attempt to keep on track with my fitness goals, I purchased a great pair of jeans today. They are one size small. I see this as encouragement and a remeinder of where I want to be. Can't wait to wear the jeans with the butterfly stitching.The up and downs of the fitness journey lasts a lifetime. One goal is to just keep taking steps no matter how small or large. Determination can create fantastic results.
All to often I hear the words; "I'm too busy, I'm tired, I have no one to watch my kids" and the list goes on and on. I can say from personal experience that I let those excuses get in the way of my own health and fitness which then ended in a 35lb weight gain.
I taught my first class at 24 yesterday, and it was great! I would say there were 35-40 people in the class. There was so much energy in the room, and I received all positive feedback after the class. If you ever want to check out my classes at 24, I will be offering Zumba on Wednesdays at 9:00am at the Lowry location, and I will also teach a 6:45pm Zumba class at the Aurora Express location. My class at Aurora yesterday went great as well! There were less people in the class, due to the fact that the group exercise room is about half the size of other locations, but it was a BLAST!
Set ambitious goals and strive towards them, but don’t trivialize the process by demanding every detail go your way. The more flexible you are about the things that don’t really matter, the more able you’ll be to accomplish the things that are. Adapt to what is and you’ll experience the very best of what can be.
