Today I took my daughter to the orthodontist for the first time since getting her braces on. She got a new wire and everything tightened up. Before even getting out of the chair at the office she complained that her mouth was hurting. The tech told her pain means progress. I started thinking, that's true in so much. The pain is for a short time and before she knows it she will have a beautiful smile.. It's hard to turn down the bread at Olive Garden. Some may even call that painful. Enduring that pain brings you better health.

Not only does breakfast provide the fuel we need for the day but it boosts metabolism, improves concentration & focus and studies have shown those who eat a healthy breakfast even weigh less. Some important things to consider:1. Avoid high sugary drinks (juices, sugar in coffee)2. Avoid high fat and cholesterol foods (doughnuts, muffins, butter toast)

Tendonitis, arthritis, bursitis... I have so many clients with the "itis" issues. I talk to people every day who are suffering from these and other inflammatory conditions. Although we do what we can during the workouts to maintain range of motion and functionality, I also believe that some people can actually improve these conditions with a modified diet. There is now a lot of information available about an anti-inflammatory diet. I believe that if we were to make even 3 basic dietary changes, we could improve our bodies ability to control inflammation.
1. Put your fork down when you chew.
Or take a sip of water between each bite—eating slowly can boost levels of two hormones that make you feel fuller. You also will not be tempted to eat to fast and you will enjoy every bite.
2. Training before lunch or dinner.
When I was a little kid I used to think that anyone over the age of 20 was old and if you were old enough to be a grandma or a grandpa you were really, really, really old. It's so funny that when we are young we can't wait to be older and when we are older we wish we were younger. There is something about the human psyche about wanting what we don't have.
