The greatest challenge in my line of work is to get my clients to believe in themselves; if it’s in their ability to accomplish a plank, run a lap, or balance on the Bosu ball. This is true in all populations i.e. toddlers, teens, adults, and seniors. I have found that the common denominator is fear and lack of self efficacy.

My mom is 87.She is, for the first time in her life, exercising. My dad died of a heart attack at 75. They both smoked until their 60's, never exercised, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, overweight and diabetic. Wow...what genetics! I have spent most of my adult life running from those genes. I think I will walk an extra mile today!
Yesterday I posted a bit about my insulin issues--"I've had a lot on my mind the past couple days-- I got some news about the blood/hormone tests I had done at the beginning of the month. The results support some of what I've theorized for quite some time about my body's response to carbs, I am INSULIN RESISTANT. Thankfully I've been eating higher protein/fat with lower carbs now for the past 9 years and am very consistent with my exercise because if I hadn't I'd most likely have Diabetes.

Nearly 12 percent of the children had used some form of a complementary health approach during the past 12 months.
