I have been working in Lewiston as a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer since July of 2008. In 2012 I chose to expand my training to include the NASM Senior Fitness Specialist certification and added the SilverSneakers FLEX program in 2013 to better serve clients 65 and older. Weight management and cardiorespiratory training for fitness are also areas of continued training and experience. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In addition to clients over the age of 65, I have worked with all ages, abilities, and goals, and enjoy helping people integrate fitness and health into their lives. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As an efi Sports Medicine GRAVITY Personal Trainer, I incorporate use of the Total Gym into training sessions as appropriate for the client. Clients really enjoy this method of training and I often receive feedback that the Total Gym is fun, effective exercise without pain experienced with other methods of movement. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Examples of client successes include reaching target weight loss, strength and muscle gain, passing work-related fitness tests, improving energy & self-esteem, regaining mobility after surgeries or injuries, losing weight or gain fitness for special events/trips and overcoming habits that have kept them from improving their lifestyles in the past. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Personal training fulfills a deep interest of mine to help people learn about themselves and approach personal growth in a practical way. There is much to be learned about life through health and fitness pursuits, and it is a great tool for building character. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In addition, I am a COLOR CODE (a.k.a. PEOPLE CODE) facilitator and can employ this tool with clients to help them learn about their own strengths and limitations for more focused effort. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Through training and personal experience, I have learned that change cannot be wished into existence, nor achieved by simply going through the motions. I live in Lewiston with my husband, Scott, our German Shepherd and nine chickens...oh yes, and lots of plants! We make it a point to explore by foot and bike often, raft when able, x-c ski when blessed with snow and spend time with good people.

    I started with Jennifer in the summer of 2014. I felt I had lost upper body strength and agility. In addition, I'd previously injured my hamstring and did not want to risk reinjury. I am very impressed with her knowledge of the muscular-skeletal system. She has a pleasant demeanor, yet composes challenging workouts. During each session it is evident that she has given much thought to my workout. I am thrilled with my progress!

    I starting working with Jen this Spring and have enjoyed it very much. She really cares about her clients. And if there is an area that needs a rest, such as shoulders, she makes sure I work out in other areas. I work with her in a group setting and it is both rewarding and fun. I do this due to being a member of Silversneakers thru my insurance. I have gained a lot in feeling better, having more endurance and balance. I more flexible because of the workouts she has me doing. I am very glad she came to my apartment complex to talk about fitness. That is when I decided to get busy. She is making my goals of bicycling and snowshoeing even closer.

    I have been working with Jen for about 3 years now. She is the best at what she does. I have many different health concerns and a few physical ailments that keep me from being as active as I used to be but that has never stopped us from reaching my goals. Jennifer has always been able to put together a program that allows me to achieve the results I want without actually having to overwork myself. Not only is she a great trainer, she has also become a great friend. I would recommend her to anyone, no matter what physical shape they may be in. I guarantee you will achieve all your fitness goals by working with her.

    Jennifer was my Personal Trainer last spring/summer to help me with core strengthening, toning and weight loss. I have a weak lower back and she designed a routine for me to use at the gym and at home. She was professional, flexible, caring and great to work with. I would highly recommend her!

    Having never had a personal trainer before, I quickly realized how helpful it is. Jennifer's professional manner and gentle approach revived my desire to get active and stay active. I am more motivated now that I have been in over a year. She helped set the pace for me to be ready for a long backpacking trek in southern Utah.
