In the beginning...

Which came first? The chicken or the egg? The egg or the chicken? Undoubtedly, you have heard this conondrum before. But have you ever wondered why? Some of you wonder why anyone would eat a filthy chicken or its eggs in the first place. Others, just the opposite - they love it and would eat it daily! In the wake of the never ending firestorm of commercials, books, ads, etc., you have been overwhelmed by the sheer ability of the billion dollar ad companies to tell that what you were told you were supposed to hear and is absolutely the answer to your problem. (Thats a mouthful, but i meant it) Paleo, no carbs, vegan, vegetarian, you name it, there is somebody out there practicing it. Im not here to tell you which is right, more like what information is sound and a basic understanding. From there, you should cautiously attempt to find your way. I mean cautiously! Let's take a look at some basics. The body is made up of countless extraordinary components that are in place to balance the unbalanced. If we get too hot, we sweat to cool us off. Blood sugar rises, in comes the insulin to counteract. So when did we become so naive to believe that this exercise or this diet was the "cure"? First, we had to stop believing that our body was well capable of achieving anything and everything required lf it, even for some of the most unbelievable personal stunts, goals, miracles, recoveries, and workout regimens. Understanding the body is not a simple thing but its not as complex as "they" make it seem. 


Lets think for a quick second. The kidneys, lungs, spleen, lymph nodes, and more are all part of an overall filtration system to remove, hold back, dilute, or whatever the body deems necessary to balance the unbalanced. True, too long in any one state can lead to problems but we havent made it there yet. An influx of water that cannot be properly distributed will even lead to an electrolyte imbalance. With that said, lets introduce some of the common ailments Americans face. High blood pressure, diabetic insensitivity, heart or vascular complications typically come from an extended length of time in a contraindicated state. Simply said, you have been in trouble for a while and probably didn't even know it. Whether the condition was genetic, brought on by ignorance, bliss, or out of regularly disobeying that which we know to be true, most of us had no idea we were in a state of needing help and, more importantly, are sliding faster toward negative results the longer we stay in such a state.


Again, your body did all it could to balance the problem. It sometimes does such a good job of masking one problem it creates a deficit or imbalance elsewhere that the body may be more equipped to deal with. This great fact is what caused our great downfall! I want to challenge us all to go back to the beginning. The beginnng of what you ask. The beginning of the food you choose to eat, beverages you choose to drink,  and think. Think of all the super processed food that those ads mentioned earlier sell you. How does the term whole foods relate to my eating habits? My buying habits? 


I want to encourage us all to go back to eating real whole foods. Whole foods require less preparation, are readily accepted by the body, and will begin to restore the natural balance that society's ad wars have stolen from us. Yes, I know your cabinets and refrigerators are stocked full of powdered, enriched, flavored stuff. We may not be able to bounce back in a day but most can realistically create an eating makeover within a month or so. By converting simple things like processed drinks into pure fruit juice or the fruit itself we start the transformation back into the true you that you were promised. If the food you elect to purchase does not come in the original form, question the sincerity of the intent. Was it money? Profit? Process improvement? Bottom line? Taste? You get the idea. Its bad enough we have to sift through fruit and vegetables that are not exactly real. But GMOs and all the other letter formations that hide their information is something to be tackled another day. Find foods that appeal to your senses, try different preparation methods, combinations, and watch your energy levels begin to balance. 


Dont become what they want. Be what you are - real, whole, not compromised. Find your wellness!
