Healthy Tips for You
Although 40 may not seem like old age, there are some things that you may begin to notice by the time you get there. Your body might not bounce back as easily as it did when you were in your 30s or 20s. You will have to work harder to manage your weight as your metabolism is slowing down, meaning you are burning fewer calories each day. Additionally, your estrogen or testosterone levels begin falling during perimenopause or andropause which could lead to insulin sensitivity that makes it harder for the body to control blood sugar levels.

Today or shall I say yesterday was great. I consumed green smoothies drank lots of water and I did have some taquitoes 2.5. I drink raw protein plant based. I am getting to like the gritty sand mild sweetness the raw protein gives. I've been drinking mint tea. Today I put a splash of coconut milk in it and can I point my finger and say Yumm. I'm in bed writing. Normally I write from my office but I'm so cozy in my bed it's 12:36 am. As part of my New Years resolutions, last night my focus was on playing with my daughter.  Small step, but I felt that she appreciated the time that we were together a bit more than if I had just been sitting there distracted.  I made dinner but took consistent beaks to sit with her and see what she was up to.  At the time, she was working on a scrapbook of our family, which was very sweet and cute and yes, I’ll take some credit for this niceness as the byproduct of the “new” parenting.

Hi All! J I kept being asked what I am eating for the breakfast. I am being asked about all the meals, but, somehow, the breakfast attracts the most interest. Perhaps because I always say that this is the most important meal of the day, which fills us up and keeps things churning as we go with our daily activities!

While my clients initially come to me for exercise programs and fitness-related advice, I always get asked this question after the first couple of training sessions: What should I eat for breakfast? It's a good one.

Breakfast.  The most important meal of the day.  So why do we typically skip breakfast?  The answer for most of us is probably a lack of time.  In fact, most Americans rarely stop their busy lives to eat throughout the day.  By the time you get home you are starving.  You consume one large meal then sit in front of the TV drained of energy from your hectic day.  Sound familiar?
