Food cravings are very real, trust me, I know!Yes, I too, deal with them. Did someone just say peanut butter cookies and cream soda?? Seriously, food cravings are natural. If we can embrace that, then, we’ve won half the battle.
Even though I have exercised pretty much all my life, I haven't always eaten right. When I was younger, nutrition was something of a mystery to me. All I knew was what I had heard…fat was the devil! So, I avoided fat at all costs. I loaded up on pretzels and every packaged fat free product advertised in the grocery store. It didn’t matter what I ate as long as it didn’t have fat. As this year comes to a close and we are ready to begin the New Year, most of us vow to make major changes in the coming weeks. We attempt to live a healthier life, without taking the time to reflect on what that “healthier life” will look and feel like. We think we need to change everything at once, but the fact is this is not realistic and we find our willpower depleted after a few weeks and give up.
Everyone has at least one bad habit that they wish they could break. Many people may have even tried to break that bad habit numerous times, but have seen no success. Needless to say, when it comes to breaking habits, everyone is open to getting a little extra help.
Are resolutions good or are they bad? Is it good to set yourself up for failure? Do people really stick to resolutions at all? Here's what I think...I think we should never stop trying! Never, never never! I don't care how many times you fall flat on your face, just get right back up and do it again!
I’m trying something new. Some of my clients asked for a challenge, so I created Healthy Habits Challenges for the rest of this year. The first challenge starts this month. We’re doing a 21-day AB Challenge and a Water Challenge. Why not a 30 day challenge? Because it takes 21 days to create a habit and most people fall off after 2 weeks, so let’s see if 3 weeks works.I’ve posted the 21-Day AB Challenge here and on my other social media sites:
