In the final part of the series I’ll talk about my experiences with injury. My story is similar to that of my friends, but I came from a different background and my body is different. I’ve been practicing yoga for four years and in that time I’ve had to deal with a strained quadratus lumborum (QL) muscle twice, a fatigued right shoulder, and most recently a high ankle sprain. Through my experience I have learned that these injuries were a sign that I need to adjust my practice to achieve better balance in my body.

Drug abuse is one of the most common problems in every nation. Millions of teenagers are turning towards drugs so aggressively that it has become a part of their lives. Once you get addicted to this, going back is never easy. Drug Addicts can have to face hundreds of different problems which can be societal, personal or professional. Society doesn’t accept such people to stay between them and also no organization will ever like to hire a druggist employee. Moreover, it is extremely dangerous for the addict’s health and can lead them to a very miserable and painful death.

If being a teenager wasn’t already hard enough, being a teenager who is suffering from major depressive disorder (MDD) can be even more difficult. When someone is suffering from depression, even the simplest tasks—getting out of bed in the morning, remembering to eat, etc.—can feel as if they are fundamentally impossible.

Nobody can argue that drug addiction is a chronic disease. This disease infects people to uncontrollably (and often impulsively) seek drugs at whatever cost – despite the inherent risks and potential chances of fatally overdosing. In many cases, substance abusers and addicts try to overcome their inner demons and seek recovery.

It's been a little over 12 weeks since I've had a patella femoral replacement and MPF ligament reconstruction surgery. Recovery has been an emotional roller coaster. As a personal trainer and massage therapist, I've been a great case study for myself and look forward to relaying that experience with clients.
