Someone asked me why I post pictures of myself after I workout. I do it for several reasons: 1. For my clients, so they know that I workout too. Accountability. 2. I think women need to stop worrying about how they look in the gym. The gym, group exercise, boot camp, any activity is about your health not your appearance. The gym is where you should sweat and your hair should be a mess afterward. The reward is in how you look and feel in your party dress or that pair of jeans you’ve been trying to squeeze into. Most of the time people aren’t really paying attention to you any way; they’re focused on their own workout. So, ladies get your sweat on! 3. Those who have known me since I was a kid know I’ve been challenged with asthma my whole life. I want others to know that if you have asthma, depression, arthritis, whatever health challenge you have, you can still participate in sports and fitness activities. Staying active and fit is one of the best things anyone can do for their health. I hope my posts inspire others to pursue their health and fitness goals. If it just plants a seed or reminds them to take a lunchtime walk, I’ve accomplished my goal. Even if you have setbacks and injuries, stay the course. The reward is in the journey and eventually you will achieve what you desire.
