I love working with people and helping them create a healthier, happier life for themselves and their families. I also want to show my daughter how to live a healthy and green lifestyle while enjoying the natural world around her. I started my career in sports medicine working with athletes, but soon realized that there was a much bigger picture. I recognized that many of the ailments and injuries athletes experienced were not only preventable, but many outside factors contributed. So I wanted to gain more experience working with a more diverse population and therefore worked at a health and fitness center for three and half years. I assessed and trained men and women mostly between the ages of 35 and 55 years of age. I soon recognized that most of my clients shared common chronic health problems; many suffered from weight gain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and joint pain. And as I developed relationships with my clients and learned of their lifestyles, I realized their problems did not stem from just poor diet and lack of exercise. The stresses of everyday life, environmental factors and the quality of products and services all played a significant role in their overall health. My experiences, therefore, led me to quite my job in 2010, and pursue and develop, and focus on healthy green living and environmental health along side fitness. The choices we make as consumers, and how we live our lives play a tremendous role in our quality of life; so I want this website to provide information; encourage action; and empower people. Living a healthy, active life is more than just eating your fruits and vegetables, and exercising at the gym. Healthy living involves making eco-friendly decisions that greatly impact your overall wellbeing and that of the environment around you.
