Getting Started in Zumba

By April Cornelius
So, I am recently certified to teach Zumba.  Now, all I have to finish my playlist and choreography to it.  Easy right?  LOL.  Well, easier said than done.  It took me a couple of weeks to recognize the difference between all the difference music styles.  I really don't want to be up there leading a class saying I'm taking them into a Salsa when it is clearly a Cumbia!  ;p.  So, I am getting it down and what makes sense for a 60  minute class.  I want to have it down before I go promote myself as an instructor.  I certainly have a love

10 Exercises to Do at Home When You Can't Get to the Gym

By Melissa Batterman
1. Jumping Jacks - Yes, good old fashioned jumping jacks-the same exercise we did as kids. They are an excellent warm-up exercise to start your routine with and provide good cardio benefits if done at a high intensity. 2. Walking/Running - If the weather is nice, be outside. Take advantage of the fresh air, sunshine and scenery. This keeps it much more interesting and fun than walking on a treadmill in your basement.  The point of your walk should be to do it at 3.0 mph or faster.  Get your heart rate up.
