I am a professional martial artist and master instructor with 35 years experience. I started my training in martial arts in 1979 and earned my first black belt under my earliest instructor, Master Robert E. Beaudoin (Seventh Dan). Master Beaudoin earned his black belt under Jae Chul Shin, along with Chuck Norris, while in Korea in 1962-63.
In 1982 I began teaching regularly for Mr. Beaudoin. I attended and trained in several of the seminars and workshops hosted by Mr. Beaudoin with teachers like Hyun Chul Hwang, Kun Tao Grandmaster Joe Rossi and Bill "Superfoot" Wallace. As time went by I trained in several martial arts including Bare-Knuckle Boxing, Modern Boxing, Kodenkan Ju-Jitsu, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Dim Mak, Chin-Na, Iron Palm, Tae Kwon Do, Kick Boxing and Filipino knife and stick fighting. I am also trained to use firearms and am licensed to carry concealed.
The most interesting to me, and of course anyone I teach, is my experience in Wing Chun Kung Fu which began in 1995. I studied and trained intensively for 12 solid years with my primary instructor, his teacher and many other fighters both in and out of Wing Chun. I was officially certified a full instructor in 1999 and was the first of my primary teacher's students to complete the entire Wing Chun curriculum by early 2001. Although finished with the full curriculum, I continued training with my instructor and other teachers including legendary Wing Chun master, Karl Godwin until 2007 solidifying what I had learned. I have been immensely influenced by Karl's spearhead approach and early groundbreaking work in Wing Chun's development.
My Wing Chun lineage goes back directly to celebrated Grandmaster Ip Man who is best known for being Bruce Lee's teacher and the subject of the movie "Ip Man" starring Donnie Yen. In addition to this I was also a private student of internal martial arts grandmaster, Sifu Frank J. Paolillo. Through him I learned Chen Style Tai Chi Chuan, Chen Pao Choi (Cannon Fist), silk reeling-spiraling power Chi Kung (Chan Ssu Chin), Dragon Ba Gua Zhang, Tao Style and the classic Shantung weapons of China.
Because of my extensive training I was able to develop what I call Innovative Wing Chun. My expanded yet sleek form of Wing Chun gives the practitioner a fully capable and automated martial art that functions in all fighting situations and fighting ranges; standing or on the ground. It is a scientific, concept based method designed to work effectively for the individual practitioner without any need for preconceived maneuvers in any given self-defense scenario. The bottom line is you will be able to effectively adapt to different situations and be proficient in all fighting ranges and scenarios. You will learn to successfully nullify any attacker with minimal effort within seconds.
