The past couple of years growing older was preventing me from doing all of the things that I enjoyed – gardening, nature walks, and biking. My balance was worsening. Increased back pain did push me into retirement after 44 years of nursing. Shortly after retiring, I did fracture my back, which required a surgical intervention. During my post-op recovery, I knew help was necessary to gain strength and mobility. I also needed help to improve my bone mass and to correct bad posture caused by years of neglecting my back pain. Chris was recommended, after reaching out to my friends on Facebook. Chris willingly took on my challenges and started working with me to build up my core strength and improve my balance.
We have been working together now for about four weeks and I realize this was a very important step for me. Chris is there for me and willingly answers any questions I may have. She understands that I am not trying to be a body-builder and is working with my limitations. I hate to exercise but know the exercises that Chris is having me do will help me be stronger mentally and physically, granting me the ability to do the things that make me happy.
Thank you Chris, for being there for me. Jan

I have been training with Chris for over five years. When I first came to her I had no core and no clue what core was. After 20 years of sitting in a chair, I was at my wits end. I would fall over at the tiniest of touches. I could not do a balance board for anyone. I was overweight, out of shape, depressed and ready to throw in the towel. Since working with Chris I have been able to spend 10 days in Europe climbing on and off busses, walking miles as a tourist and having a wonderful time. I owe that ability, and that stability, mostly to Chris who has gotten me in shape, with the gentlest of pushes and a lot of encouragement. We have fun, we exercise and laugh and swim and work hard but always at the end of the class we are having fun and enjoying ourselves. Chris has so much knowledge that I see her about my aches and pains more than my doctors. I talk with her about ways to walk and bend, etc. to better my posture so the pain goes away. She points out the tiny things that can affect how my body reacts to what I am doing. Chris points out how changing one thing changes many. She is a hands on teacher with the knowledge to back up what she is talking about. Her workouts are always challenging yet not doing too much. Her time in class is spent teaching, stretching, working out pains, and having a good time. If you need help getting started, or need to continue an existing program Chris is your person. She is terrific.
