Specializing in functional fitness training, corrective exercise, flexibility, mobility, postural/core stability, and strength for seniors. Functional fitness is the ability to perform activities of daily living that a person will encounter in their day-to-day life. Such as squatting (in order to get in and out of a chair or to lower/lift an object safely), shoulder flexion (in order to reach for something on a high shelf), triceps flexion/extension (in order to push oneself up from a chair or out of bed), etc. I have a strong desire to share my experience and knowledge of health and fitness. As a mother and grandmother with arthritis, I understand fitness related problems such as loss of flexibility, muscle strength and fatigue. A regular exercise program is effective for improving all of these. It's never too late to make lifestyle changes. With compassion and motivation, I listen to my client's objectives and personalize an exercise prescription to help them reach their desired goals, while avoiding injury. We will walk through the process together. It is very hard to do it alone. Having a personal trainer encourages accountability, commitment and consistency. The goal is to learn safe and efficient movements. This requires practice, training, and experience. My two certifications are through World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.). I live an active lifestyle. I like swimming, resistance training, cardiovascular fitness and practicing proper nutrition. I was a competitive bicyclist for 10 years. My husband and I enjoy traveling and gourmet meals.
