I received my certification as an ACE Group Fitness Instructor in January 2015 and as a Health and Wellness Coach from the Mayo Clinic in 2014. I have been leading group fitness classes and serving as a wellness resource to individuals and organizations since 2011. My passion is working with individuals going from "couch to fitness" - it is never to late to start a wellness journey!

As a wellness coach, I serve as a wellness partner to individuals making healthy changes in their life. Wellness covers many areas of life - nutrition, stress, fitness, and coping strategies. I can specifically tailor coaching programs towards weight loss, stress management, smoking cessation, and sustainable health changes.

Beyond one on one coaching, I also work with small businesses and organizations to design, deliver, and implement wellness programming in the workplace. I am available for lunch-n-learns, consulting, and on site fitness classes. Corporate references available upon request!

    I met with Michelle twice. During those sessions we were able to identify my goals and priorities and shape a path to reach those goals based on my priorities. Sometimes you know the right things to do, but you need help sorting out the "noise". Others times you just don't know what to do or where to begin. Not matter the situation, I believe Michelle has a great skill of listening and posing the right questions to help you find our way.

    The overwhelming asset I gained from our sessions was a reminder that (in my words) I need to strive for optimal, not ideal. It's a concept I learned in Engineering school but believe it applies here as well. In Engineering terms, it means seeking the best overall solution for the process, which is often not the ideal solution for any one subset of the process. In "life", (for me) this translates to: Life is busy. There are many things I would like to do, and many things I feel obligated or committed to do. Finding balance in all of those things is my goal, rather than doing 1 thing perfectly (or ideally) at the cost of the other things. Embracing that concept alone lowers my stress and puts me on a path to a healthier and happier mom, spouse, employee, person!

    I have very much enjoyed my wellness sessions with Michelle. Her positive attitude and gentle reinforcement as I go through smoking cessation have been very helpful to me. She doesn't push me to take on more than I'm capable of but at the same time offers me all the encouragement I need to be successful and achieve my goal. She is a careful listener and has lots of great ideas and positive comments. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs any type of help with their personal wellness and life in general.

    Michelle is an amazing wellness coach. Her positivity and can-do attitude are inspiring. Although she lets you go at your own pace, she is very encouraging and is always asking you what more you could be doing to achieve your goals. She helped me center in on life goals that I chose and helped me work through various ways to obtain them, one step at a time. I thoroughly enjoyed our sessions and came away with a new outlook and self image. I appreciate everything she did for me!

    Michelle was great to work with! She is professional, thoughtful, and worked really hard to listen to and learn about my fitness and life goals. She then helped me see my way through a focused, dedicated program that moved me along toward achieving real results! Working with her gave me the boost of momentum I really needed!
