2013 IDEA pti EAST Conference in Alexandria, VA

I attended my first IDEA pti EAST Conference this past weekend and was thrilled to learn from and work out with industry leaders Todd Durkin, Rodney Corn, Pete Holman, Fraser Quelsh, Shannon Fable, Fabio Comana, Mitch Batkin, Len Kravitz, Hayley Hollander and Pete McCall. The lectures were chock full of new and exciting ideas, as well as tried and true methodology, and were beyond inspiring. Todd Durkin’s “Blueprint for Success” was inspirational and fun and the takeaway from that session was huge. I have had a lot of leadership education, but this was a truly eye opening business lecture. Todd Durkin’s IMPACT challenge was of course awesome and yes, challenging as well! I was so impressed with Fabio Comana at the Panel discussion the first night that I added his lecture “Engage, Ignite, Empower” to my schedule as soon as Panel was over and I was very glad I did. Having a background in psychology I really connected with his philosophies and he has such an amazingly extensive knowledge base.  I wish he had been a professor when I was in college! Both TRX workshops I attended (TRX Suspension and Rip Training Fusion, and TRX Training for Mobility and Flexibility) were very interesting, but my favorite was the mobility and flexibility workshop. I definitely gained new insight into the parameters of TRX and it was great to learn the newest techniques from the creators of the system; Fraser Quelsh and Pete Holman. Shannon Fable’s “BOSU HIIT Extreme” was the most intense workout I experienced during the conference, and while it may have been painful at that point in the lineup or workshops, it was a great way to end the long weekend feeling like a warrior! The biggest surprise for me as far as what I learned during IDEA pti EAST was in the workshop presented by Rodney Corn on “How to train the Stressed out Client”. While it was short on time, it was long on surprisingly simple techniques that I will definitely be using on a daily basis, and it was a fun and well presented workshop. Overall my experience at IDEA pti EAST was fantastic and I will absolutely be attending any future conferences that I am able to. I learned so many invaluable techniques, methods, and practices, as well as the newest and most exciting fitness research and methodology, and I will be incorporating the best of these into my own business, FORCE FITNESS.
