As a certified Wellness Coach, one of my roles is to help a client "raise their standards" to what they feel is worthy and compelling and co-create inspirations of joyful experiences along the way. I am here to remind you that you can be all that you want to become, moving out of settling and into an expansion mindset.
Wellness coaching or Life coaching has been around for quite awhile but is largely unregulated. Anyone can call themselves a coach. Here are some guidelines:
1. Check Certification. Most qualified coaches belong to a professional organization such as Wellcoaches, International Coach Federation (ICF) etc. A professionally certified coach must have completed a minimum of coach training hours under the supervision of a qualified coaching curriculum, practiced and tested under the supervision of a qualified professional team of coaches and have kept training and educational records up to date.
2. Trust your Intuition. Do you like him or her? Is there a baseline trust and repour that feels natural? Do you feel at ease in their presence and feel confident in what they say and how they respond to others? If you don't, move on.
3. Interview Several Coaches. You are looking for someone who listens, and asks good questions. This person should have some natural insight into various life perspectives and experiences. Ask those who are working with coaches why they chose who they did and what has been the benefit of working with a coach.
4. Red Flag Warnings. Avoid any choice who makes unrealistic promises. You are an expert on yourself; your coach should honor this and work with your strengths, hopes and desireable outcomes.
If I can assist in anyway, please allow me the opportunity. Thanks in advance!
