I am an accomplished runner I have run in many Marathons and Half Marathons all over the United States. I owe my running and staying injury free to Pilates. Pilates is a way of exercise that involves control over the muscles you are using to move. Instead of walking in to a gym and letting your arms, legs and core fly around the room for an hour, pilates forces you to focus on the muscles you are using to move your arms and legs.
I also love helping people through recovery and finding their muscles begin to work again. It's one thing to shave time off your minute per mile but nothing is more exciting when someone starts moving pain free, or a breast cancer survivor can hold her arms up again to blow dry her hair. These are the wonderful outcomes I have seen achieved through Pilates.
