PRESS RELEASE-The National Posture Institute (NPI) Has Become an Educational Partner with HUR Health and Fitness Equipment

Tampa, FL, March 12, 2012 - The National Posture Institute has become an educational partner with HUR Health and Fitness Equipment , which provides computerized HUR Smart Card Strength Exercise Machines and HUR iBalance Testing and Training Systems to implement measurable active aging programs. The partnership between NPI and HUR allows for both organizations to effectively promote independence, posture, mobility, fall prevention and incontinence reduction for older adults.

The National Posture Institute incorporates three of HUR‘s iBalance Testing and Training Systems into its educational programs and workshops, which are HUR iBalance Plus, HUR iBalance Smart Card and HUR iBalance Premium. These three screening tools provide baseline testing, continued monitoring, evaluation and training regarding proper posture and stability. The HUR iBalance System allows testers and users to see how proper posture and balance/stability training protocols can drastically reduce the chance of having reoccurring falls. To learn more about the HUR iBalance Testing and Training Systems, please visit: http://www.npionline.org/products and www.hurusa.com

“Falling is #1 reason for injury deaths for older adults. Actually, every third American over 65 years old falls each year costing over $20 billion to our economy. We look forward to working with NPI to provide superior solutions and educational services for senior housing communities and medical fitness centers to reduce falls and their consequences”, said Duane Anderson, Business Director of HUR iBalance Systems.

NPI has designed an assessment and analysis system for fall prevention, as well as a balance/stability training program, especially for senior clients and those recovered from past injury. In this specific client community, fall prevention is one of the most important educations, because it prevents further injuries, trauma, inconvenience in activities of daily living, and serious mental stress.  Fall prevention and balance/stability training can effectively help clients maintain and increase their quality of living.   Each iBalance system provides Standardized Balance Testing, Fall Risk Assessments and Indication of Weakest Direction (Limits of Stability Test) and various training programs. NPI has been delivering education regarding posture, injury-free exercises and posture-based business models since it was founded. The new partnership with HUR and the incorporation of iBalance system provides a great opportunity for both clients in need and for facilities in health/fitness industry. In one hand, it assists clients/patients to improve their posture, balance and stability which effectively prevents falls. In the other hand, it is a great and unique service to implement in the health/fitness facilities, which helps increase member base retention and ultimately generate revenue.

“We are very excited to have this opportunity to work with HUR,” said Ken Baldwin, Executive Director of the National Posture Institute. “Furthermore, with the help of HUR iBalance System, we will be able to develop more programs and solutions towards our long-term educational goals.”
