Warming up for Golf

By Patricia Jarrell

Before starting your golf warmup, it's important to think about what you are trying to achieve. When I warm my clients up for golf, it is to prepare their body for the game physically, to reduce the likelihood of injury, to provide mental clarity amd improve concentration. There is an effective way to do all of this in less than ten minutes! I recommend golf-specific movements such as linear and lateral leg swings, partial upper body rotations and shoulder/lat stretches. If you are unsure how to go about your golf warmup, I suggest you hire a TPI certified golf-fitness instructor to show you how.

Patricia Jarrell

I have been actively working in the fitness industry for 23 years as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and fitness manager. Every day I look forward to leading my clients toward a healthier, more functional lifestyle. I train at a private country club and The Four Seasons Resort, as well as offering outdoor bootcamps and providing in-home workouts to those who prefer the highest level of privacy and convenience. Challenge and muscle confusion are key in my training protocol. Never the same workout twice... I love to mix it up! I also enjoy using my golf-fitness expertise with Titleist Performance Institute to assess golfers and help them to improve their game by identifying golf-specific exercises to fit their swing type. On a personal note, I have a wonderful husband as well as 3 beautiful children who encourage me to follow my passion for health and fitness without ever feeling like I am comprimising my love for family.
