Some people are cooking. Some people are cooking and eating.
For those cooking, remember: If you eat while you're cooking, make sure you take that into account and have a smaller portion when sitting down to dinner with your guests. If you think about it, you've just ate just as if you've eaten before going out to dinner. If you had dinner at home, would you then immediately go out to dinner and eat again?
For those just doing the eating on the big day: Put less on your plate than you think you want. You might be surprised how that amount can be satisfying.
And bonus tip for those doing buffet style: Take the appetizer/smaller plate to put all your food on. You might actually eat less with out realizing it, even if you go back for seconds.
