Organic foods are considered those that in all its manufacturing process, from raw materials, through processing and up to the packaging, have never been in contact with chemicals, toxic substances, or synthetic additives. They are foods that have not been subjected to the processes of radiation or used genetically modified organisms or GMO; and where the care for the environment is extremely important to achieve its final certification.
If you eat food, here’s a fact that you need to know: in the U.S., GMOs are in as much as 80% of conventional processed food, according to the Non GMO Project. Guess what? Most developed nations do not consider GMOs to be safe. In more than 60 countries around the world, including Australia, Japan, and all of the countries in the European Union, there are significant restrictions or outright bans on the production and sale of GMOs.
