It's been too long. Summer "vacation" is here (I'm using the term vacation liberally here) and I'm trying to get back into some activities that I have been neglecting: training, leisure reading, and writing (here and all the research I've been doing). I hate to have to start off with this thing that's been on my mind but I just can't help myself.

Following is an article that backs up what I, the CDC and more, suggest: Please be aware that your fellow citizen is sensitive to scents when you go out in public. Even the essential oils are not naturally occurring; they are processed potentized products. A natural rose is not the same as processed rose essential oil; but, still do not overdo flowers in a small space.

Independent seniors understandably want to stay in their own homes for as long as possible, and in many situations, it can make more sense financially and logistically. However, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more 29 million US seniors were involved in  slip-and-fall accidents within the home in 2014, resulting in seven million injuries.

While recently visiting my peeps in Miami, I attended a cycling class at a popular boutique indoor cycling studio. I'm extremely picky about instructors and workouts, but I'm training for my next triathlon and rather than skip my workout completely I prepared myself to do my own thing if I needed to because of whatever foolishness I would encounter in the class. I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised that the class would follow safetly guidelines and that the drills would be effective, but that is not exactly how it went.

It is that time of year again, in my area: winter, cold, slippery conditions. Please be sure you are careful, and stay in shape to take the bumps and bruises for the occasional fall.Even better, take it a step further by working on your balance so you are able to prevent losing your footing and able to catch yourself before the dreaded spill. If you don't already have such a product, you can try: 1.) anti slip tread soles on shoes and 2.) ice cleats that attach to footwear.

Take care of your body it’s the only one you’ve got. I was recently in a car accident and it completely through off my journey to be healthier and happy. As a result of my injuries I had to stop exercising and I now rest the majority of each day. Additionally, because I can’t workout I’ve had to tighten up my diet and eat cleaner than before to prevent gaining weight from being sedentary. Being inactive is soooo unnatural for me!
