I see people who spend 4 days a week, 40 minutes at a time, on the stair-stepper, treadmill or bicycle who don't lose weight! I know men who run 6 miles a day who have no muscle tone and rolls of fat around their waist. You've been led to believe that if you want to lose fat, all you have to do is regular aerobic exercise. There's more to it than that.
Doing 100 crunches daily alone will not give you that flat stomach. Along with healthy low fat food and 30 min of cardio a day will certainly slim your tummy down. The truth is you can't isolate fat loss. Fat loss is universal, thru-out the body.
If you are trying to lose weight then lowering your calorie intake is what counts. In the fight to lower calorie intake we as a society tend to go through phases…the carbs are bad phase…the eat-low-fat-phase and of course with that there is the inevitable push to separate you from your money by introducing low-fat foods. Its great marketing and it attempts to lure you in to buying Brand A vs. Brand B. But eating low-fat products may not be as beneficial as you might think if your goal is weight loss.
