Sometimes, we just know... right there at our core, in our center, our very "knower" guides us, offering a resonant energy with that which reflects the best and highest good within any given situation or interaction. My personality is such that I've been tempted all too often to go with a gooey feeling of positivity about a person (a new friend or acquaintaince), or an event (a sudden "shift" in plans, a "coincidental" meeting), as a legitimate message from my "knower". Trust me: there is no more sure-fire, rapid path to disappointment, and depending on the personal investment made, to hurt and even devestation.
But-- I still believe, and dare I say, am CERTAIN that indeed, sometimes we just know... and when we take the time to go deep, to get quiet, to be still and know that there are a handful of precious, irreplaceable times in life which are divine appointments, we can exercise our knower, all while receiving overwhelming blessings.
I am grateful for those few times when I allowed myself to trust the "knower"-- quieting the gooey positivity, and delve in, full force to a once-in-a-universe experience. This takes time. It takes trust and a willingness to be guided. It takes the courage to be willing to risk BIG in order to connect authentically. It takes a decision to be vulnerable, an intentional acceptance of the possibility of complex, and at times even challenging relationships. However, when we can finely tune our abilitiy to hear that inner still, small voice, and when we forge ahead according to the instruction offered, we are in for perhaps the GREATEST gift ever to be given or received-- a true sense of coming home. Such special connections awaken our souls, causing us to recognize the other in a way that surpasses conscious understanding, logic, reason or what "should" be.
The "knower", the still small voice wants to introduce us to love as we've never known it-- not just romantically, but as a way of life. The love offered here transforms life from a blurry black and white polaroid to a technicolor, high-definition, 3-dimensional adventure. When our knower plays the role of match-maker, introducing us to a kindred spirit, a traveller with a similar life path, on a spiritual journey harmonious with our own, we have been given the GREATEST gift in the entire human experience. We've been given FAMILY... not just through biology, but through the majesty of what Albert Einstein identified as "the universe conspiring for our good... conspiring to bless us"
Today, one of my spiritual family celebrates a birthday. And I CELEBRATE her, as a gift in my life, a necessary piece of my evoluationary puzzle, and a fantastic model of how to BE in this world, but not allow the muck of the world to taint or change us.
Happy Birthday, Dear One...
