Starting today, January 1st, 2018, the Commandant of the Marine Corps has authorized Marines 46 years of age and older to row 5 kilometers on the Concept 2 Rowing Ergometer as an alternative to running on the Physical Fitness Test. The purpose of this webpage is to educate Marines on the rowing standards as well as provide information on rowing technique and workouts.

Check out the "Rowing Standards" link - do you have what it takes to "row-like-a-Marine"?

Concept2, Inc. did an outstanding job assisting the United States Marine Corps in structuring this program for "The Few, The Proud".

I am a Concept2, Inc. factory-trained indoor rowing instructor. Just ask for no-cost 1-on-1 coaching on the Concept2 indoor rower at any time and any gym/fitness center. I formed an official Yuma Military Installations team for Concept2 - just ask for details. Any indoor rower can qualify for the elite annual Crash-B Indoor Rowing Championships in Boston - from Yuma.

Alan Pruitt PN

"I believe there is always time to start over. I help humans move better, live longer, and play smarter. I deliver online 1-on-1 nutrition and exercise coaching with the heart of a teacher." My fitness and coaching philosophy is straightforward: Completing your fitness journey well is made impossible by striving to end with perfection as your goal. So, let us work together to strive for gradual improvements through small daily habit changes in your nutrition and exercise activity. That is what Voltaire means by: "The perfect is the enemy of the good."
