Hi everyone, I'm a 25 year old male from Big Rock, IL. I'm a honest hard working country boy that gets along great with just about anyone. I consider myself a jack-of-all trades in the fitness industry. I am NSCA-CSCS certified and recently graduated in May of 2013 with a BSc in Health Promotion and Wellness and a minor in Strength and Conditioning from UWSP. I have 5 years of professional training experience with nearly all demographic segments of the population. The combination of growing up working many laborious jobs with my love for action/adventure sports is what motivated me to peruse a career in health and fitness. While I am great with general fitness, weight loss, and bodybuilding, my passion in fitness lies in functional performance. I love showing people how well they are able to move when their body composition, strength, posture, flexibility, and coordination are all working together. I receive great pleasure helping people become better at the things they love to do by developing highly customized training programs. Whatever your goals, I am confident I will help you achieve. Feel free to message me with any questions you may have including general questions about health and fitness.

I came to jake with a painful injury in my calf from running. I thought that is all we would work on, but Jake did so much more.

Every exercise (many I have never tried or heard of) was started from the absolute base difficulty, with my injury in mind, and progressing when I felt comfortable in a way that his knowledge in fitness was evident. The whole program Jake constructed was tailor suited for a runner, with the athletic form of running emphasized as well as specific postural/strength improvements. Everything felt safe and it never got unbearably intense. At the same time as the injury was treated, Jake also guided me through circuit training geared towards maximizing running economy and cardiovascular health.

With such a consistent and effective routine I quickly saw results, losing 10 pounds in a handful of weeks and my injury only a memory. Overall I really enjoyed my experience and came to see jake as a mentor and friend.

Jake and I trained for about 4 months. I turned 40 in 2013, and had not worked out in a formal gym setting for many years. Although, I was not a couch potato and I did excersie regularly, I was definitely not in good shape. Jake and I made good progress over a short period of time. I was only able to work out a couple hours per week due to my schedule. Nevertheless, his relentless workouts and strong training expertise paid off for me. I went from barely being able to make it through streching exercises for 20 minutes to blasting through an hour of dead-lifts, squats and upper body workouts with cardio mixed in. I recommend Jake for beginners as well as for persons that just need to get back into shape.

Hi, I am 52 and thanks to Jake feel like I am much younger! Jake is a very gifted fitness instructor who has the scientific training to back up his natural gifts as an athlete and teacher. His ability to "read" the conditioning level of individual fitness trainees and to adapt his strength and conditioning ideas to a broad spectrum of abilities and requirements is quite remarkable. His qualities as a motivator couple seamlessly with his enthusiasm for his work, and his sincere dedication to helping others reach their goals for personal improvement and a healthier life.

I have been training with Jake for a few months now and cannot express how much he has changed my outlook on fitness. As a moderately athletic female, I was very wary to start lifting but Jake has made it extremely enjoyable. I feel better now than I ever have in my life and I owe it all to him. When I started training my main goal was to lose weight. With Jakes guidance I have learned how important it is to lose "fat" over weight and being strong can feel just as sexy as being "skinny". I would train with Jake forever if I could and I highly recommend him for beginners like myself, or for people that may just need a little extra help. You will not be disappointed in this investment & Jake is so much fun to be around that the workout flies by. I have made it a priority in my life to stay positive & strong in the gym & in life and Jake taught me that.
